Always the big plan
the big win
big project
dreaming of
the big money
Long trips in difficult ways
and torrid love affairs
Always the prettiest girls
coolest motorcycles
fastest cars
Never the small plan
the plain girl
the day-to-day
of working a job
What about
the simple things?
quart of milk
feed the cat
“what’s on TV”?
Don’t want
to do the homework
learn the basics
and never, ever
take the bus

I really like this. I’ve been hanivg a Facebook conversation with a good friend recently on the topic of knowing and valuing one another (and, for that matter, ourselves) based on who we are vs. what we do. It’s a tough concept to *get* . . . but an important one, I think, if we are to see ourselves and others as God sees us. Thanks so much for sharing.
