Watching
my son and my daughter
laugh and splash
in the bathtub
I suddenly realize
that to love
is to accept
mortality

Yeah, well, I ain’t there yet dude, I mean, the weekly shower I try to avoid, so a bath, wow, do people actually take bathes? or baths? u no wot, i don’t even no how to spell dat plural. Mortality, er ? D’you mean dat some people are actually gonna like die is wot u mean? Ooh, scary thought dude. Poets and philosophers should not spend too much time in bathrooms. Or maybe they should for dat matter. djn
This poem sums up perfetly months of thoughts I had about love and death since I know I’m going to be an uncle.
